Medicaid
• The Home Health staff member will need to see your Medicaid card.
• In order to be eligible for Medicaid coverage, you must require skilled care.
• When proof of eligibility is provided to Home Health for each month in which services are provided, Home Health will bill the Medicaid program on behalf of the patient for all services authorized by that program.
• Home Health accepts Medicaid as payment in full.
• If proof of eligibility is not provided, Home Health must assume that the patient is not eligible and will bill the patient directly for services provided.
•If proof of eligibility is provided within a reasonable period of time, Home Health will bill the Medicaid program on behalf of the patient.
• Persons who have applied to the Medicaid program and are waiting for proof of eligibility to arrive may be accepted as Medicaid pending. Proof of eligibility must be furnished to Home Health as soon as it is received.
• If Medicaid coverage is denied, payment remains the responsibility of the patient or the patient's financially responsible party. Home Health will bill the patient directly for services. If payment of these charges constitutes a hardship for the patient, this must be discussed at the time financial arrangements are being agreed upon to determine if an adjustment can be made.
