Medicare
• The Home Health staff member will need to see your Medicare card.
• To be eligible for Medicare coverage, you must require at least one qualifying skilled service such as: nursing, physical therapy or speech therapy. Generally, the Medicare program pays in full for services that are medically necessary for homebound persons and listed as covered services by this federal insurance program.
• Home Health accepts Medicare as full payment for services. The Medicare beneficiary has no financial responsibility if eligibility for home care under the Medicare program has been established.
• If services not covered by the Medicare program are necessary, the patient will be notified by the agency that arrangements need to be made. If payment for these non-covered services constitutes a hardship for the patient, this must be discussed at the time financial arrangements are being agreed upon to determine if an adjustment can be made.
