Private Insurance
• Payment remains the responsibility of the patient or the patient's financially responsible party. Where assignment is accepted by the insurance company, Home Health will assist by billing directly if an assignment form is completed and signed by the patient or the patient's financially responsible party.
• Generally, private insurance has a coinsurance and/or deductible obligation. Patients with private insurance are responsible for the portion not paid by the insurance company. Insurance coverages vary greatly, and occasionally private insurance will not cover one of the physician-ordered services. The amount not paid by the insurance company will be billed to the patient. If payment of these charges not covered by insurance constitutes a hardship for the patient, this must be discussed at the time financial arrangements are being agreed upon to determine if an adjustment can be made.
